A “Direct” Cremation / Burial is an Unattended Funeral
Over the last few years demand for unattended cremations has grown rapidly, and some sources say it now accounts for around 20 per cent of U.K. funerals. Unattended funerals are not new, funeral directors have been arranging them for many years.
People choose them for different reasons: for some, the cost of a traditional attended funeral can seem prohibitively expensive, and for others, it is simply in line with the wishes of the person who has died to have an unadorned cremation with no mourners in attendance.
We offer Unattended “Direct” Cremations at fixed prices which include the cremation fee. One is a Simple Direct option, the other is a Direct Plus option because it might be important for those closest to the person who has died to have the opportunity to say goodbye, so this option includes visiting your loved one at our funeral home before the funeral takes place.
Direct Cremation Options
Simple Direct Cremation - Includes Cremation Fee*
This is an unattended private funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony or service for the deceased but they do not attend the cremation itself, it includes:-
Cremation Fee*

Preparing and submitting all necessary legal and administrative paperwork

Liaising with all third-parties on your behalf

Bringing the deceased into our care from place of death at any hour

Care of the deceased at our premises until the day of the funeral, including simple preparation and a gown

Provision of a light oak veneered coffin, lined and furnished**

Conveyance of the deceased to the crematorium by private ambulance

This funeral option excludes choice of date, time or crematorium (*if a preferred crematorium is specified, this may incur an additional charge) **Coffins exceeding 6'2" x 22" x 12" are made to individual requirements and will incur an additional charge.
Direct Cremation Plus - Includes Cremation Fee*
This is an unattended funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony or service for the deceased but they do not attend the cremation itself, it includes-
THIS INCLUDES ALL THE SERVICES PROVIDED IN THE ABOVE SIMPLE CREMATION OPTION WITH THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

Dressing the deceased in a gown or their personal attire

Provision of a light oak veneered coffin fully furnished with upgraded interior**

Visiting the deceased at our funeral home during opening hours before the funeral

Conveyance of the deceased to the crematorium by traditional hearse
