A “Direct” Cremation / Burial is an Unattended Funeral
Over the last few years demand for unattended funerals has grown, and some sources say it now accounts for around 20 per cent of U.K. funerals. Unattended funerals are not new, funeral directors have been arranging them for many years.
People choose them for different reasons: for some, the cost of a traditional attended funeral can seem prohibitively expensive, and for others, it is simply in line with the wishes of the person who has died to have an unadorned funeral with no mourners in attendance.

This is an unattended private funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony or service for the deceased but they do not attend the cremation itself, it includes:

Preparing and submitting all necessary legal and administrative paperwork

Liaising with all third-parties on your behalf

Bringing the deceased into our care from place of death at any hour

Care of the deceased at our premises until the day of the funeral, including simple preparation and a gown

Provision of a light oak veneered coffin, lined and furnished**

Conveyance of the deceased to the crematorium

This funeral option excludes choice of date, time or crematorium (*if a preferred crematorium is specified, this may incur an additional charge) **Coffins exceeding 6'2" x 22" x 12" are made to individual requirements and will incur an additional charge.

This is an unattended private funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony or service for the deceased but they do not attend the burial itself, it includes:
